Hi friends,

I am really getting excited about Sunday's party. It will be so fun to spend time with each of you! I have created a map to give you an idea of where the festivities will take place. You can view it at http://www.visproservices.com/rivermap.php

So, here is what I am thinking about timing... We meet at Chris' house (8411 Coker Court, Sacramento 95826) between 2:30-3:15PM so that you can put your food stuff in his fridge and freezer and we can figure out who would like to carpool. We head down to the river at 3:15PMish and hang out until 5:30-6:00PM and then meet up at Oki Park for the bbq/potluck/games. No worries if you arrive after 3:15, there will be cooler(s) on the porch for food stashing. Although I plan to stick around the Watt/Howe area, you are welcome to go where ever, of course.

About the river... Getting to the river- The American River is located blocks away from Chris' house. If you would like to drive or carpool, there is parking near the Glen Miller Park or adjacent neighborhoods off of La Riviera (see map). Walking takes about 10-15 minutes and biking is even quicker. We usually lock our bikes to the power line tower near the American River bike trail and walk to the river or Watt Ave access for floating.

Floating- Is anyone else interested in floating between the Watt Avenue and Howe Avenue access points? Chris, Steve and I can testify that this is big fun and usually takes 45 minutes to an hour long. I usually prefer to float in my life jacket, which leaves two inner tubes and an extra life jacket for borrowing. We will leave the extras on the porch. BTW- Radial Tires in West Sac sells truck inner tubes for $7 that are ideal for floating.

Boating- Chris can drop off a canoe and kayak for anyone interested in boating or bring your own!. Please let us know if you are interested in borrowing a boat.

Swimming- There are lots of good and mediocre beaches that you can reach via the Glen Miller access point off of La Riviera. Just follow the sand/dirt trails that connect with the American River Bike Trail.

About the eating and games... Chris' house is located maybe two blocks from Oki Park (see map). There is parking available on Bennington and Lake Forest near the park, in addition to the few spots in front of Chris' house. We will keep the house open during the party in case you need to use the bathroom.

Is anyone interested in playing soccer or frisbee or ? in the park? If so, please bring any balls, gloves, etc. with you. Right now I only have one frisbee; I will try to pick up a soccer ball or something.

Well, that is it for now. Let me know if you have any questions. See you soon!
